ARTISTS
Adelina Abasli
Young fine artist and now instructor, Adelina, has been going to art classes since she was 3 and she hasn 2019t stopped since. Adelina has immigrated to the UK 5 years ago from Azerbaijan, where she was born. Adelina has always been curious about the different media 2019s and experimenting with them. Doing that she has developed her own style, yet she still takes inspiration from other artists.
She has also experimented with photography and turning her pictures into art on paper with many different textures and perspectives. Adelina is very high spirited and open minded to any suggestions or ideas. She is also very social and loves to communicate with people in all age groups .

Adelina mostly focuses on Still Life, but she is open to changing things around and building her skill on other areas such as landscapes, portraits, nature, animals and playing around with shadows and light.
Her strong suit is pencils as she thinks they are the best for details, but she loves other media 2019s such as oil paints, acrylics, watercolour, pastels , chalk and so much more! Adelina is looking forward to meeting you all and sharing all her knowledge and warms to make everyone feel welcome.

It was an overcast day (2024 Christmas day) , we decided to go for a walk. At one point, I looked at our daughter and couldn?t resist not capturing her face in that soft, diffused skylight. Painting anything anything on overcast light has its own challenges?colors tend to be more muted, and the light is evenly spread, unlike sunny days where you get sharp contrasts between light and shadow. Lately, though, I?ve been drawn to this kind of light. There?s something subtle and beautiful about it, an

Inspired by the beautiful landscape and skies we experience here in North East Scotland. Using wet in wet watercolour techniques to create the initial landscape by allowing the paint flow to dictate the scene then touching up some details to finish. A fun and relaxing way to be creative with no reference.

This is an acrylic on canvas painting, size A4. Painted from a reference photo courtesy of David Livingstone. I am a self-taught artist living in Dundee. I've been painting for 3 years and have recently been drawn to paint seascapes and skies. I grew up in Islay, and my dad still lives there I love teaching others how to paint, and I run paint-and-sip parties for the locals on Islay once a month as an "excuse" to visit Dad and stay connected to him. I hope to have the first-ever exhibition of m

The clothing items I used for this still life came from my closet. I was thinking about how life is more than what we wear and how it is more important that we are clothed in kindness, strength, and humility.

Oils on 56cm x 46cm canvas. Large for me!A larger canvas really does provide a wonderful opportunity to dive into the textures and subtleties of the lion cub's fur, and those expressive little details?like the way its eyes catch the light. Oils allows you to layer and blend, giving more depth and ability to play with the softness of the fur.

Winter?s grip on the Straits of Mackinac slowly melts away with each passing day of warm sunshine. The ice cover gradually retreats with the approaching spring and renewal of another shipping season on the Great Lakes.
