ARTISTS
Adelina Abasli
Young fine artist and now instructor, Adelina, has been going to art classes since she was 3 and she hasn 2019t stopped since. Adelina has immigrated to the UK 5 years ago from Azerbaijan, where she was born. Adelina has always been curious about the different media 2019s and experimenting with them. Doing that she has developed her own style, yet she still takes inspiration from other artists.
She has also experimented with photography and turning her pictures into art on paper with many different textures and perspectives. Adelina is very high spirited and open minded to any suggestions or ideas. She is also very social and loves to communicate with people in all age groups .

Adelina mostly focuses on Still Life, but she is open to changing things around and building her skill on other areas such as landscapes, portraits, nature, animals and playing around with shadows and light.
Her strong suit is pencils as she thinks they are the best for details, but she loves other media 2019s such as oil paints, acrylics, watercolour, pastels , chalk and so much more! Adelina is looking forward to meeting you all and sharing all her knowledge and warms to make everyone feel welcome.

I met this beautiful Animal on Safari in South Africa, we were able to feed her by hand, which I did, when she took the food from my hand, a tear ran down from her eye, across her cheek, and onto my hand, it was the most special moment. I knew instantly I had to paint her. The image is a collage of two photos of her that I put together to create the subject "Cheeky Sisters". It is Oil on Canvas, 50cm x 60 cm

I started my art journey painting family pets as gifts and I have paintings of our own six dogs (3 unfortunately no longer with us) hanging on our sitting room wall. Last month I decided to take a break from landscapes, seascapes and still life, to do this painting of our Yorkieshire Terrier boy Teddy who just turned 3.

This painting is part of a series of Aberdeen harbour lighthouse paintings I have been doing from photographs by John Strachan photography. I was attending a seascape workshop with Michael Samson and chose this photograph as my subject. We laid out the painting using mono tones before adding colour. The emphasis was on movement and excitement from the waves creating an energetic painting. As always I used palette knife in the foreground for the rock formations. The painting is done in acrylics o

Although I work with oils, there are rare occasions where I will do a portrait or pet portrait using mainly Polychromos and Caran d?Ache artist pencils like in this portrait done on Pastelmat. I loved the expression on this little girls face and knew I would probably not achieve the effect I was looking for using oils.

When I started this painting , I was talking to a friend of mine who said that my paintings were a mixture of real and surreal. I grew up an avid reader, and read every book they had on fantasy and Greek Gods and Goddesses.. I feel imagination keeps us young, and I?m still looking for the leprechauns in my forest&128513

For a answer, listen to "The World Is Yours " by Nas. I'm a father of 4, Married, and have a big responsibility on my shoulders, sometimes I feel overwhelmed, so I paint as an outlet. This is the result... whose world is this?
